Danganronpa: Togami

Asagao Togami (十神朝顔 Togami Asagao) was a supporting character in Danganronpa: Togami. She was one of the selected participants in the Legacy Crown Championship and was ranked Bronze.

History[]

Prior Life[]

Asagao was the second child of Saya Togami, making her the younger sister to Yūsuke Togami. Asagao would later be selected to be apart of the Legacy Crown Championship, serving as one of the chosen fifteen picked to compete in it. Prior to the championship's official start, she would attend vacances at the site of the competition, Tōajō Castle - a castle built on the Togami Family's private island, with the other chosen siblings as a way to gauge the competition prior to its start.

Legacy Crown Championship[]

When the championship begun, Asagao was taken to Tōajō Castle to begin the competition for real, learning that in order to win the 'reliance' must be found. There, Asagao broke up a fight between her brother and Jirō Togami, that was sparked following Yūsuke voicing displeasure upon being ranked by third party watching the proceedings. As the siblings voiced their dreams, Asagao gave her's at the end: for all the siblings to just come together and become a happy family, casting aside their ranking system. She's even willing to give her life to see that it happens, which causes everyone else still present in the cafeteria to fall silent.

On the third day of the championship, Asagao witnesses Kazuya Togami murder Wasuke Togami. Fearing that such bloodshed will continue to happen to her siblings, Asagao writes a suicide note detailing what she saw, and heads into her brother's room. There, she uses his suicide device to kill herself, in hopes that her death would get her siblings to stop fighting. The device decapitates her, sending her head all the way outside where it would be found the next day. Yūsuke finds her note, but instead opts to hide it and intended to extort Kazuya for money for killing his sister. Something that would backfire on him later as Kazuya would kill him on the sixth day with the same device.

K2K System[]

Later on its revealed that the above was apart of a fabricated flashback created by the K2K System. As a result, it can be said that no person actually died during the actual Legacy Crown Championship, as according to Byakuya Togami's account. It is unknown if Asagao Togami actually existed or, if they did exist, their depiction is actually Asagao's personality and appearance. If Asagao did actually exist, she would have eventually be wiped out with the rest of the Togami Family, aside from Byakuya, according to Junko Enoshima during the Killing School Life.

Appearance[]

Aside from being a woman in her late-twenties, Asagao has no other description.

Personality[]

Of the selected participants in the championship, Asagao was the kindest of the siblings, having loving both her half and step siblings all the same. Her niceness was noted by Kazuya to have resulted in her being liked by virtually everyone. She was quick to break up any conflict caused by her siblings in an effort to maintain peace, and given that her requests were usually followed, it could be said she held a degree of respect amongst her peers. Her main dream was to have everyone be a loving family towards each other, something that had her ending her life in an attempt to make it a reality. She was also religious, with Kazuya mentioning that Asagao was Catholic.

Relationships[]

Legacy Crown Championship

Yūsuke Togami[]

Yūsuke is Asagao's full-blooded elder brother and the only one who could really talk him down once he get's riled up, as evident with Yūsuke backing down from an agrument with Jirō upon Asagao's intervention. While she kills herself to get the others to come together and Yūsuke seems to be upset upon finding her dead body, considering he was just going to use her death to extort Kazuya, it implies that he didn't have any real love towards her outside what can be gained from her death.

Kazuya Togami[]

One of Kazuya's step-siblings that he actually has a positive bond with due to her kindness. It's to the point even after he was aware that Asagao saw him kill Wasuke, her treatment of him prevented Kazuya from trying to kill her. When he found her body, Kazuya was left upset alongside the rest of their siblings, since they shared the same like for Asagao.

Trivia[]

  • Of the deceased participants of the Legacy Crown Championship, Asagao is the only one to have committed suicide.
